Maximum Ride

            In the story Maximum Ride by James Paterson is about six kids who are genetically altered to have wings.  This happened to them when they were in the school, the school is a mega laboratory that takes children and alters them so that they have powers.  For this blog post I’m going to talk about character. The character that I chose is Max. 

            Now Max is an interesting character, at the beginning of the book Angel, the person who is closest to Max gets taken away. She was taken back to the school where they escaped with the help of Jed. Jed was once a scientist that was doing these experiments on them felt bad for them and kidnapped them from the school.  Then one day out of the blue he disappeared.  Max the eldest of the group raised them as her own.  Angel who can read minds is most likely the most important hence why she was kidnapped; she was kidnapped by the erasers.  The erasers are mutated half man half wolf. They are absolutely vicious creatures and will stop at nothing to get Angel back to the school.

            When Angel is kidnapped Max is the one who is the most deeply affected.  She is the one who will stop at nothing to rescue her sister back from getting experimented on and tortured.  Max is such a determined character in the way that she will not stop for anything in the way of her getting Angel back.  Back in the school the white coats (scientists) call Angel specimen number 11.  This shows that there is no respect for her and they just don’t care. In the end Max breaks in with the help of her friends and fights off the white coats rescues her sister and are finally left alone, for now.
